Overcoming HS

A journey to overcoming Hidradenitis Suppurativa and developing a healthy lifestyle, fully submitted to Jesus Christ.

Get Up and Go!

I’ve been talking about it for a while now… trying to figure out the hows, whens, wheres, and whats (all the things) of sharing my testimony… my journey with Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I’ve stalled for so long because I would sometimes feel like, “what do I even have to share? I’m still dealing with this thing!” I had been feeling tugs on my heart from God to share but I didn’t know how or where to start. So, I didn’t. That’s disobedience. I do not want to be disobedient. So, I’m starting. I’m just gonna go for it and this is my going for it…

Just yesterday, I was talking with a friend about an old blog post I wrote and she asked why my blog wasn’t open. I didn’t have an answer. This morning I was praying and asking God how He wanted me to minister and share my testimony. As I sat down for my Bible time, I decided to use my new NLT Bible rather than my usual NKJV. The first page I opened up to was Acts chapter 22. I started to turn to find something else but I was like, no I’ll go ahead and read it because there may be something in it for me. As I began to read, I realized that as Paul is speaking to the crowd, he’s actually sharing his testimony!

Paul is sharing with the crowd how he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. In verse 10, Paul asks Jesus, “What should I do, Lord?” Jesus instructed him to “get up and go” into Damascus. It was there Paul would be told what to do.

>> Jesus wants us to “get up and go.” Be obedient and trust Him to just get up and go even if we don’t receive full instruction yet. It is after our obedience that we’ll be told what else to do.

In verse 15, after Paul got to Damascus, Ananias told him, “For you are to be His witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard.” Verse 16 goes on to say, “what are you waiting for…”

>> The Lord wants us to testify and be a witness of who He, Jesus, is and what He’s done in our lives.

What I got from reading this chapter? God wants me to “get up and go” share my testimony! What am I waiting for?! I am to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ and share testimony of what He’s done in my life. Just be obedient and the Lord will continue to lead and guide. Open the blogs. Share. Testify. Trust God.

Here’s my obedience… I’m Crystal, and welcome to my blog. I have HS and this is my journey to overcoming it.
